As a naturopathic physician, I am dedicated to treating patients holisticallyand naturally. Recognizing the body's innate ability to heal itself, I employ natural therapies to promote the body's own healing mechanisms during times of illness. My primary focus is to eliminate the underlying cause of ill health, rather than to just treat the symptoms. Understanding that each patient is a unique individual, I tailor the treatment plan to specifically meet the needs of each person.
Providing health care for all stages of life, I treat a wide range of health conditions, both acute and chronic. In practice, I use natural therapies such as herbal medicine, homeopathy, dietary counseling, hydrotherapy, and nutritional supplements to restore the body to health. As needed, I refer to other health professionals, including acupuncturists, psychotherapists, and medical doctors in order to achieve complete and total healing. Using the most appropriate interventions, I help patients re-establish their natural state of health.
I graduated from Duke Universitywith a great desire to practice natural medicine. I received my doctorate from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University) in Arizona and am Board Certified in Naturopathic Medicine. Before attending medical school, I completed a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Education at the University of South Carolina. While studying, I worked as an intern for the department of nutrition, teaching classes and devising interventions for overweight children. My undergraduate degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from USC and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Duke University. As part of my educational training, I also worked in Nicaragua for Natural Doctors International. This worldwide agency strives to incorporate naturopathic medicine into global health care by delivering natural therapies to under served communities in Third World countries.
I founded Naturopathic Healthin 2008 in Charlotte, NC, opening a second office in 2020 in Greenville, SC. Throughout the years, I have been overwhelmed by the vast number of patients who seek my services because conventional medicine has failed them. Without doubt, medications and surgery certainly have their place in helping people recover from serious illness and trauma. However, it is important to remember that nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle factors play a major role in preventing chronic disease and keeping individuals healthy. My goal, as a naturopathic doctor, is to teach the principles of living healthfully, employ the healing power of natural substances, and support my patients as they work to achieve optimal health.
